We’re a small team of Homer locals who are dedicated to supporting Homer Forest School’s vision and mission.
Dr. Kay Sturm is an educator, mother, and resident of Anchor Point, Alaska. She supports schools and teachers nationally in Project-Based Learning (PBL), school systems development, and long-term strategic planning. She is a certified K-12 Special Education teacher and taught Middle School and High School. She earned her Doctorate of Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California in 2017 with a focus on Facilitating Meaningful Learning in a PBL Environment.
Angela Head is a mother of three and business owner in Homer, AK. She received her degree in Zoology from Northern Arizona University. After a brief and non-successful stint in grad school and some solo world travel, she ended up as a National Marine Fisheries Observer on commercial fishing boats in Alaska. Stewardship of our resources is a value she feels strongly about. She believes in educating little people outside whenever possible to foster a love and connection to Earth and its people.
McKenzie Daigle is a freelance marketer in Homer, Alaska. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with her degree in Modern Languages & Literatures, as well as her TESL certificate. She has close ties with the commercial fishing world and loves to spend a couple weeks every year on the water. Her favorite days typically involve long hours outside with her dog.
